Birthday Party FAQs

What is the duration of the party?

The party lasts for 2 hours, with various activities and meal options depending on your chosen package.

What are the minimum and maximum numbers for a party?

The minimum number of children for parties is 10 (20 for our VIP children’s birthday party package), including the birthday child. The maximum number of children depends on the chosen option but we always do our best to accommodate.

What is the deposit and when is the balance due?

You only need to pay the £30 deposit to confirm your booking. The remainder needs to be paid on arrival.

Do you cater for special dietary requests?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any specific dietary requests or changes to our menu. We use many ingredients and shared equipment in our kitchens every day. Whilst we do our best to manage the cross contamination of ingredients, we cannot guarantee that our food meets allergen-free levels. Information on our food in relation to the 14 ingredients regarded as allergens by the Food Standards Agency is available on request. We recommend that party guests with allergies, intolerances or food hypersensitivities bring in their own food for consumption, with prior authorisation. This food should be stored in a sealed and labelled container and must remain the responsibility of the accompanying adult. Your party will still receive the same amount of meals for the number of children you have paid for. The accompanying adult is responsible for managing any food consumed by any guests with allergies, intolerances or food hypersensitivities at all times. Some dishes may contain bones.

Once numbers are confirmed, is this the fixed amount to be paid for?

Your confirmed final number is the minimum number you will be charged for. Additional guests will be charged the cost-per-head of your party. Final numbers must be confirmed the week before the party is due to take place. Your confirmed final number is the minimum number you will be charged for. We will endeavour to cater for unconfirmed guests if possible but this is not guaranteed. If additional food and table space cannot be provided, additional guests will be charged at our standard entry tariff applicable at the time of the party. Payment for additional guests must be made at the time of entry.

When there are fewer guests than our required minimum number, you will be charged for the required minimum number of 10 (20 for our VIP children’s birthday party package).

Will I get a refund if party guests do not arrive on the day?

Unfortunately once numbers are confirmed, we will not provide a refund for any no shows on the day.

Are babies under 1 year counted as guests at parties?

Babies under 1 year are admitted for free, so please do not include them in your party guest numbers. Babies under 1 year will not receive a party meal. If you do wish for a guest under the age of 1 to be included in the party and to receive party food, then please do include them within your numbers.

What if I need to cancel my party?

If you cancel the party less than 21 days before the date of your party your deposit is non-refundable, however, rescheduling to a mutually agreeable time is possible in the event of a cancellation.

What age is classified as an adult for parties?

16 and over. Children are and remain the responsibility of the adults accompanying them and we therefore suggest visitors allow at least one adult for every five children attending. Accompanying adults are requested not to use the upper levels of the playframe during busy periods but must supervise from the ground level.

How many adults can attend?

Each children’s birthday party group will be allocated one table and four chairs.  We regret that we are unable to provide additional seating for more than four adults.  Additional seating may be available elsewhere in the building.  As we have limited capacity for accompanying adults we allow only one free adult per party guest.

What do I need to bring?

We provide plates, cutlery, cups and napkins and your party food. All you need to bring is a birthday cake! Cakes requiring refrigeration are not recommended since we are not able to offer this service. Unfortunately, we can’t allow you to bring your own decorations, party poppers, piñatas, streamers or indoor fireworks, as they may cause damage to our rooms.

Can I bring my own food?

We cater for children and for adults at our soft play centre. Other than your birthday cake, your own food is not allowed to be brought into the centre. Alcohol is not permitted either.

We allow party guests with allergies, intolerances or food hypersensitivities to bring in their own food for consumption, with prior authorisation.

Is the party food Halal?

Our chicken nuggets are halal, we do offer vegetarian options.

Can we have extra time in the party room?

Party rooms are in constant use on busy days, therefore the use of the party room must keep to the confirmed time.

If guests bring siblings, who pays for them?

The adult accompanying the children should pay standard admission for the sibling on arrival. If they fail to do so, as the party host, you will be responsible.

Is there entertainment?

The Jumbo Fun and Play team are here to help adults and children to make sure that everyone has a good time. Our party staff are there to assist you in the smooth running of your party and should not be viewed as entertainers. You have the option to book party extras for your child’s birthday party, including a visit from a character, glitter tattoos, and our in-demand Jumbo Party Bags!
